Another benefit has been the cost of living. In Metro, the constant financial pressure was overwhelming. The rent, bills, transportation, and food costs. It often felt like I was working just to get by. But here, everything is so much more affordable. As I have no rent to pay since I have my own house, and everyday expenses don’t take up nearly as much of my paycheck. This has allowed me to save more, invest in things that matter, and even enjoy life without always worrying about my finances. It’s been such a relief to finally have that freedom.

Then there’s the work-life balance. What used to be a major stress was the hours of commuting and train rides. But now, it’s just a 15-minute trike ride from my home to my office. That extra time has allowed me to do more of the things I love, spending time with my kid, or just relaxing after work.

And, of course, I’ve still been able to grow in my career. While Manila is home to some of the biggest companies and networking opportunities, I’ve found that there’s plenty of room to succeed here as well as I step up from senior associate to a managerial role. I’ve had the privilege of working with clients from all over the world, learning new skills, and building my personal brand, all from the comfort of my home province.
